Job Description

Install plumbing pipe, valves, fittings and fixtures in buildings contracted with the company. Installation be per code with professional quality and safety at all times.

 

Essential Function

  • Installs, connects, tests complete water and sanitary piping systems.
  • Troubleshoots plumbing systems as necessary.
  • Installs fixtures and equipment to local code and or company standards as directed.
  • Maintains required paperwork.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have 5 years experience and be at a journeyman level plumber.
  • Be able to continuously bend, stretch, kneel and climb as necessary. Must also be able to lift at least 50 pounds of material on a continuous basis and able to do overhead work for long durations.
  • Health compatible for jobsite conditions including mobilizing in trenches and in sandy conditions.
  • Able to work in 90+degree heat daily.
  • Must supply all tools to complete the tasks.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge and experience of the principles, methods, tools, and equipment used in the trade.
  • Must be familiar and comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Must be able to layout, rough in and finish out plumbing work.
  • Must be knowledgeable and have the ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to calculate basic math problems and formulas.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Locate, mark, make penetrations in floors, walls and roofs as needed for piping installation.
  • Being comfortable working in confined spaces and places at great heights.
  • Able to install all piping straight, level, plumb, and cleanly, to code in a professional workmanship manner.
  • Test and verify plumbing as directed.
  • Able to follow oral and or written directions.
  • Able to instruct and train unskilled workers in a safe manner.
  • Must be knowledgeable of local plumbing codes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse general public, with a focus on quality service to all.

 

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Must provide own transportation to and from the jobsite as required for the work shift. May be required to work unusual hours, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must constantly protect the interests of the company and promote it’s success
